Gaming Is In My Blood
Hi! My name is Oshan. I'm a gamer. Gaming is in my blood. I used to play all kinds of games. First Person Shooters, MOBA, Car Racing games, Collectible Card Games, Turn Based Strategy games, Real Time Strategy games, Platform Games, Fighting Games, Action-Adventure games aaaannndd.... Role Playing Games.
After playing all those games I realized I like RPGs more than other games. I immediately fell in love with RPG mechanics. Character progression, leveling up, looting, multi layered quests, tactical combat, tactical pausing, item durability management, important decisions in the story are some of my favorite mechanics. Lately many other genres had borrowed RPG mechanics.
My favorite RPG is The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim. It's a breathtaking and immersive journey from beginning to the end. Attention given to small details is incredible. For example when you go to an inn to rent a room for the night, owner will walk all the way to the room and show it to you. Or when you start cooking at an inn the owner will call the waitress to help you and she will sell you more items. When you're in a town people will talk to you. And a guard will tell you "I used to be an adventurer like you but then I took an arrow to the knee." The game manages to make you feel like you are really living and breathing in the fantasy world. The developer Bethesda Game Studios and director Todd Howard have created a truly shinning gem.
There are many other amazing games which I aim to talk about in the future. I will be talking mostly about RPGs. In Sri Lanka many gamers don't play RPGs and RTS games. To be honest I find RTS games are a bit difficult but I managed to finish StarCraft Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm on normal difficulty. I struggled on hard difficulty though. I'm good at playing RPGs though. I finished Dark Souls 1 and 2.
Game on gamers.
